The University of Calabar, has announced
the death of her pioneer Vice chancellor,
Professor Emmanuel Ayandele.
The message which was posted by the
institution on its official Facebook page,
reads in part "the University of Calabar
wish to inform all staff, students,
members of the University and the entire
public that the institution has lost her
pioneer Vice Chancellor, Prof Emmanuel
Ayandele."
Prof. Emmanuel Ayandele, a Professor of
History was the first Vice chancellor of the
school from October 1975 to November
1981 and is popularly known to have
called Cross River state an "atomistic
society perpetually at war with itself."
